150th Anniversary of the Royal Australian Artillery Celebrations around Australia – 1st August 2021

Below is information for the Members of 105th Battery RAA Association of events to celebrate the RAA 105th Anniversary in the designated locations around Australia.  To find out why 1st August is the RAA birthday, see Surf’s Up in this Tiger Rag.

The leading activity on 1st August is a synchronised Fire Plan to fire for effect (FFE) 75 rounds across nine (9) Gun Saluting Stations around Australia at 1200 and 1230 hours AEST.  Also of significance is the National Gunner Dinner 20-21 August 2021. 

This information is as much as we can garnish to date and may be developed further by the RAA Representative Colonel Commandant, the RAA Units and Associations in each state/territory, and the Artillery Association.  Members outside South East Queensland should contact the RAA Association in their respective States/Territories, or the 2IC of their local RAA Unit.

  • 1 Aug 21, 1200 hrs, Commemorative Ceremony, RAA National Memorial, Mount Pleasant ACT.

  • 1 Aug 21, 1645 hrs, Last Post Ceremony at the AWM.
  • 3 Dec 21, 1600 – 1700 hrs, ANZAC Centennial Gun handover ceremony with RAAHC gifting to Army, Blamey Square, Russell Offices, ACT.

2021 REUNION CONFERENCE and AGM  – (Tweed Heads)in planning

The 2021 reunion and AGM is presently being planned for Tweed Heads 15th to 17th October 2021.  Proposed venue is the Tweed Heads Bowls Club with accommodation at nearby Motels. 

As the arrangements are tentative due to the pandemic, further details will be posted on this website when available and in Tiger Rag Editions 55 and 56.
