RECENTLY DECEASED – Mike Thompson, Graeme Maughan AFC

On 2 June 2025 we sadly lost LTCOL Michael Miles (Mike) Thompson. Mike was the BC 105th Battery 1966-67 between the two tours of Vietnam by the Battery. Michael earlier served in Vietnam as one of the original Australian Army Training Team members from August 1962 until November 1963. Later in his career he attended the Royal Military College of Science in the UK and served in Washington, USA.

With great sadness and remembrance of our Mateship with the passing of LTCOL Graeme Maughan AFC on 9th June 2025

Graeme was a veteran of the 105 Field Battery 1st tour Vietnam 1965-66, having graduated from the Officer Cadet School Portsea and posted to the RAA. After his Vietnam service, Graeme changed to the Army Aviation Corps and trained as a fixed wing pilot. he also was a pilot trainer at Point Cook Victoria.

Graeme had been Association President for 6 years and twice Life Member.

Graeme had suffered from Parkinsons for some time, and sadly passed away on 9th June 2025.
